Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us
Cloud Post (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Cloud Post app and related services. This Policy explains how we handle information when you use Cloud Post. You can contact us about privacy, support, account deletion, data-rights requests, and complaints at cloudiosfeedback@cloudpostofc.com.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and sign-in information: your email address or Apple relay email, account identifier, and authentication tokens used to keep you signed in.
- Profile information: your display name, age, mood, bio, interests or tags, avatar or profile photo, and similar details you choose to provide.
- User Content: letters, replies, chat messages, photos you attach, and information included in reports or blocks.
- Device and technical information: device identifier, operating system, app version, IP address, and server request logs.
- Photo library access: when you choose a photo for your profile or a letter, the app accesses only the photo you select.
In this version, the app requests photo library access only when you choose a photo for your profile or a letter. Letters, replies, chats, and photos attached to letters are stored on your device. Account and profile information is sent to our authentication service so you can sign in and keep your profile.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- create and manage accounts and keep you signed in;
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- store and deliver letters, replies, and chat messages;
- personalize your profile and app experience;
- protect the security and integrity of the Service;
- respond to support requests, reports, and data-rights requests;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms; and
- understand and improve the Service.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except in the limited ways described here. Hosting, storage, moderation, customer support, and security work are carried out by service providers acting on our behalf. Each of them is bound by a written contract that requires confidentiality, limits use of your details to the tasks we assign, and calls for protection at least equivalent to the standards in this Policy; they are not permitted to use the information for their own purposes.
We may also disclose details to professional advisers, where a legal process or public authority requires it, to protect the rights, safety, or property of those involved, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. Anything beyond these situations happens only with your consent or at your direction. The providers we use may change over time.
5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
The app may use local storage, preferences, and secure storage on your device to remember your session and settings. We may use device identifiers and server logs to operate and secure the Service. This version is designed without third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. If this changes, we will update this Policy and the App Store privacy information.
6. Data Retention
How long details are kept depends on what they are and why they are needed. Account and profile details remain for as long as the account is active and, after it is closed, for a short further period where retention is necessary to resolve disputes, meet legal duties, or back up related systems. Letters, replies, and chats that live only on a device leave our control once removed there. When there is no longer a reason to keep information, we delete it or de-identify it.
7. Your Rights
Wherever you live, you can generally ask to review, correct, or erase the personal details we hold, and you can close your account. You may also decline targeted advertising or any sale or sharing of personal details, and exercising these rights will not lead to discriminatory treatment. For California residents, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA provides the rights to know what is collected, to have it deleted or corrected, to limit or opt out of sale or sharing, and to receive equal service when those rights are used.
To exercise a right, contact us at cloudiosfeedback@cloudpostofc.com. We may need to verify your request before responding.
8. Children's Privacy
CloudPost is aimed at adults aged 18 and over, and the app does not use an age gate or age verification; the age field during profile setup is optional. We do not knowingly gather information from children under 13. If a child under 13 has sent us details, or you believe an under-18 user is active, write to us at cloudiosfeedback@cloudpostofc.com and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion and account closure.
9. International Transfers
CloudPost is presented to users in the United States, but operating the Service may involve processing in other countries where we or our providers maintain facilities. Those countries may not protect data in the same way. Where information crosses a border, we put safeguards in place — including written contracts with the recipients requiring equivalent protection and limits on further use — so that the details remain protected at the level described in this Policy.
10. Security
Administrative, technical, and physical measures are used to guard information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Even so, no electronic transmission or storage system is entirely foolproof, and we cannot promise absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
From time to time we may revise this Policy, and the revised wording will be published through the same channel. Material changes will be flagged in the app or on the published page, and the new version applies once it takes effect.
